Hollis Seamon’s Newest Novel Awarded One of the Year’s Best

Someone Up There

Congratulations to Hollis Seamon!  Her novel SOMEBODY UP THERE HATES  YOU has been included in the 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults list put out by the American Library Association.

SOMEBODY UP THERE HATES YOU will be translated  in Spanish (ALGUIEN ALLA ARRIBA TE ODIA) in February, French (DIEU ME DETESTE) in March, and German (EINER DA ODEN HASST MICH) in May.

MFA Launches Second Year with Faculty Reading September 12

We’re kicking off the ninth season of Frequency North with a reading by the pioneers of the MFA program: the professors.

On Thursday, September 12, Hollis Seamon, Kenneth Krauss, Daniel Nester, Barbara Ungar, and Rone Shavers will be kicking off the second year or the MFA program with a reading of their own.

This is sure to be an exciting year for the faculty. Many of the MFA professors have upcoming book releases and projects.

Hollis Seamon’s young adult novel, Somebody Up There Hates You was released on September 3rd, 2013 as one of the inaugural books in Algonquin’s new Young Readers imprint.

Daniel Nester is editor of The Incredible Sestina Anthology, due from Write Bloody Publishing later this year.

Kenneth Krauss’ book, Male Beauty: Postwar Masculinity in Theatre, Film, and Physique Magazines, will be published in the spring of 2014.

Hollis Seamon’s Young Adult Novel To Be Released In September


Hollis Seamon’s young adult novel, SOMEBODY UP THERE HATES YOU, will be released by Algonquin Books on September 3, as one of the inaugural books in Algonquin’s new Young Readers imprint. It will be released simultaneously in Canada by Penquin/Random House’s Razorbill imprint. The novel has received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews and has been chosen as a Fall ’13 Indie Bound Kids Indie Next title.

Someone Up There

New Books Arriving From Hollis Seamon in 2013


Hollis Seamon is keeping plenty busy over her sabbatical.

She launched a new website:  www.hollisseamon.com.  

Her new story collection, Corporeality,will be published by Able Muse Press on January 31 and will be available in print, Kindle and Nook editions.

Also, Seamon’s new story, “Death Is the New Sleep,” is being sold as a Kindle story by the same press.
