Have you been seeing the massive amount of conference and publication opportunities out there, but are still a little “iffy” about the processes of abstract writing, submission processes, presentation processes, conference funding, etc.? Well, there are answers to these questions and professors willing to provide them!
The Department of English is hosting a conversation and workshop on scholarly publishing and conferences for all English graduate students. English faculty Dr. David Morrow, Dr. Eurie Dahn, and Dr. Brian Sweeney will be on hand to offer practical advice and to demystify the process of finding an audience for your scholarly work.
The event will take place on Thursday, November 17, in Albertus 303 before evening classes, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. All English graduate students are invited to attend.
For more information, please feel free to email Dr. Sweeney: firstname.lastname@example.org
Gather up any questions and concerns you might have and bring them to this event! Once you have your answers, come on back to the blog and take a look at the many opportunities for paper presentation and publication that we have worked hard to filter, summarize, and link for you! Click here! If none of these strike your area(s) of interest, there is a ton of information out there; a good place to start is the UPenn site. If you want to wait, we will have a few more editions of CFPs posted to the blog throughout the year (one before winter break and a couple in the spring), so keep checking back in with the blog for more opportunities to get your work out there!
